At this time of year, the preparation of a delicious menu is essential for any family, so today we would like to suggest a New Year’s menu where the orange is the star. Thanks to its beneficial health properties, the orange in your New Year’s menu will bring your family an exceptional and healthy taste.
Our suggested menu consists of 1 starter, a main course and 2 desserts, ideal to accompany coffee.
Starter: orange salad.
There is nothing better to open the stomach than a tasty salad. The ideal dish to eat leaving room for the main course.
Our orange salad, as easy to make as it is delicious, consists of:
Iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, oranges, and extra virgin olive oil.
Main course: Chicken with orange
Orange baked chicken is our main dish. Easy and simple to prepare, with this dish you will conquer the diners because the touch of orange will make the difference.
To prepare this dish we will need:
1 entire chicken, white wine, 3 oranges, and fine herbs.
Squeeze an orange, mix it with the wine and fine herbs to make a marinade. Pair the chicken and fill it with some orange pieces. Put the oven at 190 degrees, bake for an hour and a half turning the chicken every 30 minutes and that’s it!
Dessert: candied orange with chocolate and orange cookies.
First of all, the candied orange with chocolate will give us a good taste in the mouth and the cookies will be the ideal complement for the after-dinner coffee.
To make the candied oranges we will need
Water, sugar, orange juice, orange, and chocolate.
First, we cook the orange slices in water, orange juice, and sugar for 40 minutes until they are soft. Then we melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and once it is melted, we submerge half of the candied orange in it. Let it rest and that’s it!
To make the orange cookies we’ll need:
200 grams of butter, 120 grams of sugar, 280 grams of flour and 1 orange.
Mix the butter, sugar and orange juice. Add the flour until the dough is ready. Give the biscuits a festive shape and add orange peel in a spiral shape. Bake at 180 degrees for 11 or 12 minutes and that’s it.
